SERVICE DAYS (SATURDAY 17 - SUNDAY 18 APRIL 2010)

A great moment for joint communion, Service Days call for a citizen spirit and the mobilization of everyone. Organized over two days on 17 and 18 April, the success of these days depends on the millions of people each one undertaking small citizen actions to the benefit of the environment, at home, in schools, by associations and enterprises across the entire country.

On the occasion of Service Days, citizens will mobilize to show that the total number of their actions can give rise to general awareness making it possible to modify personal behavior. During these Days, multiple voluntary actions will also be conducted on beaches, in parks, forests and several parts of town.

For a multiplication of green actions

The citizens or entities participating in these two days will have the task of carrying out a maximum number of voluntary actions making it possible to reach the objectives of Earth Day 2010, i.e. "One billion acts of green™" across the world in favor of the fight against global warming and environmental protection.

Participants can choose a minimum of 5 green actions to be carried out regarding the use of a non polluting means of transport (bicycle, on foot or by public transport), the cleaning of green spaces or of neighborhoods, low use of resources or types of energy, or through actions or awareness campaigns at a large or small scale. This concerns actions implicating the commitment of each player, a commitment respected at home, in the neighborhood, at the enterprise, or in nature.
